Parkinson's in flies

Paradoxical kinesia in Drosophila

Do Parkinson's flies move less because they can't, or because they don't start?

The experiment

Paradoxical kinesia is when people with Parkinson's, who struggle to start moving, suddenly move well under strong enough demand. I'm testing whether it shows up in flies, across three levels of compulsion, including a fly treadmill I built around a stepper motor.

There are no results to report yet. They'll go here after the December poster.
